Yulemas Ogre...

"he sees you when you're sleeping...
rips off your teddys head..."

Not excellently painted, but I've finally got it done =)
Scibor Ogre Santa.
Purchased it from the trolltrader at somepoint in the middle of the year and really wanted it painted up to use as a decoration. It may be a day later than desired but at least he is finished to an 'okay' level... may neaten him up at a later date... currently wondering what I can put him with to create a small warband with.

Undercoated most of the goblins now...

I see a night goblin, I'm going to paint it black...
not many left to do, so many are now black...
ready to be painted up in a pretty new colour scheme,
purple and grey predominantly with a little bit of blue and yellowy-green!

Making slow but sure progress... Hopefully have them all painted to a basic 4 colour standard, so I can get back to them at a later date to neaten up, but feel better playing with them if I get a chance soon.
Really wanting to get back to my chaos dwarfs and other projects...

Follower Appreciation 001 =)

Howdy! thought I'd do one of these since I have a few people following now, Spreading the love or such? =)

Firstly friends from the world offline...

Stygianheart, currently has two blogs after realising that my reason for having two made sense =) His gaming orientated blog is 'Meandering Shade' where he shares various tips as well as chatting about what he's upto and posting the obligatory pics of pretty (and much better painted than mine) miniatures, and 'Pull Back the Masque' which is his more personal blog roughly comprising the fun, frolicks and madness of bieng a family man, a creative individual and living with depression.

Craig McClung, started up the blog 'MrPedantic is Attempting to be Creative' that was to be about his slowly working through the miniatures he is getting from the reaper bones kickstarter... but since he isn't to be receiving them for awhile he has opened it to whatever creative pursuits he gets going with. He started to have a go at working on a map for a city he has imagined but hasn't yet updated how progress is going with it. Personally I am looking forward to seeing how it's going.

People with gaming related blogs!

Stug, mostly blogs about military vehicle kits on their blog 'Armoured Fighting Vehicle' but also has some interesting scratch builds including 'this walker vehicle' there are a few other posts about this creation on his blog if you wish to see how he started it and the finished, painted product.

The Laughing Ferret's blog [], has a wonderfully varied content spanning a number of fantasy and sci-fi gaming lines. some fantastic conversions and characterful bloodbowl teams. Also has some good taste in music =)

Tony Maher, A Barnsleyite (Barnsleyites should totally be a race in some weird sci-fi game), he co-writes 'Miasma of Pestilence' with a friend (tom) on their hobby adventures. It's Games Workshop only from what I've read and mostly has features on Chaos Marines. (no complaints from me, my first and favoured are Chaos)

Colonel Scipio's blog 'Palladian Guard' covers mostly imperial/rebel guard and world war II. (also someone who also actually enjoys the background of the game! yay)

Headologist writes 'Do You Have A Flag' which is a fair amount of 40k, some WWII and other miniatures with a hint of roleplaying mentioned in the mix... just started following them as of writing this, so looking forward to seeing what they have been upto in their coming posts. (and another who also enjoys the background fluff =) though not entirely a surprise as him and the above Colonel seem to be acquainted and of thankfully similar mindset)

Non-gaming bloggers...

DeeSpookyOne, not sure if she meant to follow this blog or my other one, but her blog 'DeeSpookyOne' is full of cool, gothy arts and crafts as well as serving as a bit of a journal.

Zendra Zink, Is a Floridian Gothy individual who via 'Drones and Drabbles' communicates and documents odd bits and bobs about her life and experiences in the goth/gothic culture.

And the people who are currently blogless.
(or atleast don't have links to their blogs in their profiles)

Adamcore, Santo1246, Davey, SpaceCowboy,

I would like to say cheers for following and hope I aren't boring people to bits... I'm likely to mostly be painting and or posting random miniature pics up for a bit, maybe the odd conversion step by step if any occur, but there isn't too much gaming going on at the moment due to time of year and various illnesses/plagues etc going around.

Many thanks, yours, Jessica.

No painting today, just sorting out necrons and stuff.

Nothing much done regarding painting... but I've dug out my slowly acquired classic necrons (Ebay I <3 you!)

34 warriors, 5 immortals, 8 scarabs + not pictured, 2 necron lords and 3 destroyers.

Looking to get them organised into 2nd edition (have about 2000pts worth) and 3rd edition forces (I think its a little over the 1000pts mark for that?).

3rd edition may seem an odd one, but for the sake of quick uncomplicated games it's a good choice, also as a freind who's kids are into the painting side of the hobby want to play the game, but have pretty low attention spans and don't like waiting too long before it's their turn again, it again seems ideal.

Trying to work through my collected miniatures and hobby stuff to have a bit of a clear out on ebay around the new year...

Have currently sorted out a reasonably sized starter force worth of space marines I no longer need, an un-opened copy of the limited release of spacehulk + foam specially designed for the miniatures and a barely used copy of the battle of five armies.
(regarding spacehulk, this version is fun, but I prefer playing the 2nd version)

If anyone reads this, I have a question. If selling a force of space marines would it be worth painting all up as one chapter? also would it be better selling all together as one lot or as several lots of squads and characters?

Hopefully be in the mood to get on with more goblin stuff tomorrow and get back onto writing background stuff for the roleplaying games I'm running/planning to run.

Hope everyone is keeping away from the wintry ills, all the best, Jessica.

Grot and Goblin update

Managed to get eight of the dregs/grots painted up now...

Also finally started painting up my goblins. I've been meaning to get on with them ever since finishing the trolls. I'm quite liking the colour scheme so far for them.
Focussing on trying to get them game ready, rather than amazingly painted, partly because I'm fed up of having so many unstarted/unfinished projects, partly because I don't seem to have the focus at moment to give them my full attention... I'm wanting to get out some of the reaper character miniatures to give a bit more time to at some point soonish.

Anyway... random couple of pics of Work In Progress Goblins, 1 archer unit and 2 shamans.

And a rear view of the shaman on the left...

Really loving the yellow mushies =)

Any comments are appreciated, Hope people are having fun, Jess.

woohoo, back to doing stuff!

Brief glimpse of works in progress... more grots for the scavvy gang, the first goblin of my grey-skin goblin army and some unfinished kroot lurking in the background...

speaking of lurking in the background...

I have had this beautiful old thing for years. It has never encountered the tabletop and isz a bit out of scale for the newer games... the current greater daemon of Tzeentch being about twice the size!
am planning on stripping it, remaking the missing right foot, (as my earlier attempt looks a bit thin at the front and flat, plus I could do better now) and arming it with a staff or something... possibly to use with my chaos dwarves in fanticide? only time will tell... Anyway! to kitchen now as my kettle awaits... then paintbrushes and stuff!

Not been too active on the hobby front.

Been a bit off for the past week and a bit, so have been distracting myself with films and other pursuits, hopefully be getting back on with things this coming week.

Am currently laid on a sofa at my friends Micki and Jonah's (go have a glance at his gaming blog over at Meandering Shade  =P )

I came over on saturday to catch up with a few friends I haven't seen for awhile in the group and to do some roleplay. I got there later than I wanted due to health problems (never fun...) and after a few moments of calming down a bit and re-orientating myself to the rooms new layout, I sat down to find out what was going on for the evening. Those who weren't sorting out their high elves/dwarves or knitting, were interested in me running my goblin game, so I tried to pick up where I left it last and add in Dave's character Mignon.

After stumbling around trying to get it to the same pace I last ran it, discovered that a combination of painful belly-ache and trying to navigate the various conversations that were going on at same time meant I couldn't focus enough to make it work, and we ended up stopping it.

My friend Craig left shortly after this, wayne carried on with his writing, Jonah, Hana and Micki carried on with what they'd been doing and the rest proceeded to have a fun game of warhammer, Carl and James using high elves and dwarfs, I think with a bretonian sorceress. Versus Dave with his vampire counts and Gregs orcs and goblins... unsure of points but it was pretty big... no terrain or boards were used they just set up 24" apart on the table and started.
Dave and Greg came out victorious.

Was fun seeing everyone as I've missed a weekend, haven't seen Dave for abit and haven't seen Carl and Hana for months. Was a bit weird Micki and Jonah's eldest two not being there... but would have likely been more chaotic (as today proved when they came back from their grandparents)...

Today has been quite lazy (for me) helped move the sofa and tables towards the window a bit, chatted with Carl and Hana before they left and briefly with Wayne when he dropped in...

other than that... checking out ebay, facebook and twitter, chatting with Micki and Jonah and watching Jonah start work on the Settlers of Catan tiles we are putting together for a freinds Yule gift.

There was also sleeping somewhere in there?...
