Oh wow... just over 2 years since I last used blogger...<br />
Have been focussing more on music production/writing.<br />
Regarding gaming its mostly been the odd game of age of sigmar and roleplaying without publishing any of the stories I've been playing in.<br />
<br />
Very recently been getting more onto minatures based gaming and painting again, and have been getting a little active via instagram (link to my account here <a href="https://www.instagram.com/neonpinkapokalypse/" target="_blank">NeonPinkApokalypse</a> =) ) <br />
Current plans for blogger include only posting fully finished miniatures when they are either a whole army/warband and have a background written about them. For wip shots and purely seeing various gaming projects progress, instagram is best bet.<br />
<br />
I also intend on uploading bits and peices I am creating and writing rpg wise up on DriveThruRPG when complete (most likely as free/pay what you want content) currently working on some rough grungey tiles in greyscale/black and white to suit my personal aesthetics and its something I'm finding fun, though hand painting grids for the various sizes of square ( 25mm, 30mm + 40mm) is a bit tedious, and as I don't own a scanner, fixing the perspective from the photos of the paintings in the image editor I am currently using is a bit of a pain too!<br />
<br />
Major initial task here, is to fix all the dead links from photobucket and find an alternate source to use as image host.<br />
I recently stated I was abandoning the facebook page I set up alongside this blog... As I get to putting content onto DriveThruRPG I think I may just delete older posts after taking screenshots of the more interesting comments and refocus it onto being part of the self written rpg/wargaming promotion/contact points.<br />
<br />

Heres to an interesting year! - Jess.<br />

Sooooo...<br />
A new age... An Age Of Sigmar! <br />
Yet again us poor people with a love for evil stunty types have been left without an army list/warscroll selection... luckily due to the simplicity of game shouldn'nt be too hard to bodge together bits of the dwarf and chaos stuff to come up with a workable list...<br />
You'd just think, that having made a batch of them in recent times via forgeworld, they'd have thought to give them a list too... hey ho! off to homebrewing I go...<br />
(+ I may actually have enjoyed the two games I've had so far of AoS, still going to keep playing 8th ed too, I like them both for the different things they are)Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-80458891148498507762015-03-27T19:23:00.002-07:002015-03-27T19:25:50.839-07:00Further scribblings on the Fuzzies rpg setting.<br />

The sacred order of the rubber chicken!<br />The god of the rubber chicken is a formless entity of humour in all its guises, from the simplest whoopie cushion to slapstick and dark twisted laughings at others violent mishaps.<br />A common warcry of its priesthood is "wack 'em! wack 'em! wack 'em!"<br />It's followers mostly try and see the positive side of things, however grim they may be, and try to get a giggle out of the occasion.<br />They also commonly arm themselves with a fair sized, weighted rubber chicken.<br />Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-85833453391192254722015-03-23T05:44:00.000-07:002015-03-23T05:45:06.891-07:00Fuzzies rpg idea - concept sketches<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
So I had an Idea for an old school gonzo dungeon crawl one off roleplaying game for my gaming group, set in a twisted town sized themepark...<br />
Due to one of members associating 'gonzo' as a famous puppets name, as opposed to the dictionary term.<br />
<br />
I ended up redoing the small setting for the game focusing on another world/an alternate earth, one occupied by a race that to us would appear to be sentient puppets called Fuzzies.<br />
<br />
These creatures of human-like, through to anthropomorphic and monstrous visages, live in The Big City. Hardly anything bad happens there, and some of the populace grow restless with desires for more adventurous thrills.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Fuzzies/fuzzie%2001_zpspij58c7n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Fuzzies/fuzzie%2001_zpspij58c7n.jpg" height="640" width="540" /></a></div>
<br />
Luckily there is a vast, cursed theme park on the city outskirts for such individuals to go risk their lives for fame and glory within the underground community that has grown around the escapades done within the twisted wreck of Fairy Cartoon Theme Park Land.<br />
<br />

Going to be interesting eventually coming up for a back story for this creature... (wherever its from, theres probably more of them...)<br />

Reaver, a warrior priest of 'The Librarian' has been on a pilgrimage from Moenia and in a small village in the mountains hears tale of a wizard named Garagan who is seeking to employ a group of strong and skilled individuals to acquire a crystal skull for him in a likely dangerous quest into the old sunken temple of Kuwhaza recently rediscovered by miners working near Finis.<br />
<br />
On route Reaver encounters many small bands of bandits. He defends himself from these threats well and keeps whatever gains he finds on their unconcious or dead forms to later donate to the churh of The Librarian in Finis.<br />
<br />
During his final encounter outside Finis city limits, a group of four attack the holy warrior. He dodges a club blow by pure luck, throws a handfull of his throwing crosses at the three approaching from the opposite side of the road taking the one in the middle out and knocks out the club wielding attacker with the pommel of his sword, plunging the blade into the guts of one of his would be attackers, the surviving bandit turns tail, only to be shot down by Reavers crossbow.<br />
<br />
Reaver sets the bodies to the side of the road, taking of their possessions that which he can pass on to his church as tribute.<br />
<br />
On entering the crowded streets of Finis, full of merchants selling their wares, children pkaying strange games in the streets and the general hustle and bustle of the populace he decides to locate this cities church for his patron.<br />
<br />
Finding the building with its many towers and minarets, Reaver enters, greeting with some enthusiasm and respect the Head of this churches order, mentioning the donation he has collected. The gaunt, robed individual looks at Reaver with a level of contempt, he turns to a group of similarly robed individuals in a distant corner, speaking to them, "we've another of 'those' types" then calling on a young adept of the order, he assigns one called Escartame to look after the guest they have, before he himself heads off elsewhere within the church.<br />
shaven headed and looking through large circular framed, thick lensed glasses, the enthusiastic boy answers the requests of Reaver as to where Garagan can be found, pointing towards the location of the large tower at the centre of the city.<br />
<br />
After this moment of questioning, Reaver further enquires about a place to stay for the night and is lead towards the chambers on the 2nd floor.<br />
<br />
Within the stone chamber is contained a basic pallet bed, a desk and stool, with a sink and commode. The Priest looks at the simple and practical furnishings with some homely content. This is all he needs.</div>

Of Drunken Ninjas and Odd Jobs for Freedom<br /><br />Beginnings? pt I<br /><br />After waking from a drunken stupor, chained to a wall in a prison cell. A Ninja discovers she seems to have had a hell of a night of partying... and can't quite remember much of where they are, how they got there or who they are...<br /><br />Whilst in the cell one of the other people in the cell starts having a bit of banter with her, and through them and a short conversation with a large guard through the cell door, she discovers that whilst at a bar in the town someone had knocked her drink over, or out of her hand... which somehow exploded into a brawl that led to her knocking out or otherwise injuring half the towns guard before being overwhelmed and dragged into the jail.<br /><br />After a short while the guard comes back and asks her to follow him as the head of the guard would like to talk to her.<br /><br />Upon entering a room filled with weird curios, scrolls and books, she is invited to sit down. The head of the guard asks that the Ninja recovers an artifact for him from the caravan coming through the town later in the day, due to her performance the past night he feels this could be an easy task for her. He describes the artifact in question as being a strange blade, looking like it has a ribcage and with a small shrunken skull for its pommel. It is thought a witch in the caravan is carrying it. if she accepts to do this task, she'll be let free and without charge for her injuries to the town guard.<br /><br />A servant returns her items to her and she leaves to pass some time before the caravan arrives. Ending up drinking a sweet juice at another bar for a few moments to relax... still not quite sure who she is though...<br /><br />When the chimes and bells that signify the caravan is coming into town draw near, our amnesia suffering Ninja heads off to the caravan, seeing a man at the front with a sign hiring for caravan security, she goes and talks with him.<br />He calls for the head caravan handler, who introduces himself as Joresh.<br />After a brief confusion over her choice of profession (Joresh initially thought she wanted hiring as 'entertainment') but then hearing about her fracas with the town guard, Joresh hires the Ninja for security, and ushers her toward the Owner of the Caravans caravan, to meet him, telling her to say Joresh had sent her.<br /><br />Climbing into the large caravan, she sees this caravan has very expensive looking carpets, and throws on its frame, with some parted in the roof letting some light in.\<br />A large man is sat cross legged in the centre of the floor, with three young pretty women on the opposite end lounging on cushions. <br /><br />The ninja and caravan owner converse, the owner introduces himself as Harad, he then gesticulates towards a dark corner, where an ornate looking glass and brass kettle is steaming away as an old lady he calls Mathilda, makes tea.<br /><br />After Harad mentions Mathilda is so old, she was old back when his father owned the caravan it seems obvious to the ninja that she, (the old lady) is likely the one rumoured to have the knife. When Mathilda and Harad leave, the ninja quickly looks around the caravan, searching for the skeletal blade. whilst the ladies protest there is nothing to find, (a number of important looking documents that the ninja casually drops around her saying otherwise) as she searches.<br />The blade not to be found on this caravan, the ninja gets out and is greeted by a relatively well built man with a red triangular badge on the right of his jacket. Introducing himself as Davras, they chit chat a bit and he hands her a jug of rather potent wine leaving her to start her first shift of security.<br /><br />Going to the back of the caravan, the ninja finds Mathilda arranging various potions and items on a stall and setting up a small tent.<br />She asks the elderly lady vaguely if she perhaps has an interesting looking knife, Mathilda raises an eyebrow and rambles a little about the nature of her potions. before getting back to her work, leaving the ninja to get back to her duties.<br /><br />Whilst wandering around she notices Harad and a bunch of his men heading into the city, a couple of new recruits into the security like her, one being a muscular tanned male with a mohican, the other a woman covered up in a cloak.<br />She notices that the security for the caravan all have the same red triangle Davras has, exempting her and the new recruits...<br />At some point the wine Davras gave her appears to be too much and she is rudely awakened by the large city guard from the jail, who has come to check on her to see if she is doing the assigned task his master gave and is disappointed to catch her sleeping on the job… he gives a warning that they are keeping their eyes on her and leaves.<br /><br />After thinking about her situation, and feeling a little scared of the consequences of stealing from an ancient seeming witch, the ninja decides to talk to Mathilda about her original reason for getting hired and show she wants to stay with the caravan a good while.<br />Going towards the tent where the old lady appears to be reading cards or otherwise telling fortunes, there is a queue.<br />Deciding to come bak later our friendly alcoholic takes a few more swigs of the potent wine Davras gave her and wanders around until the queue has gone. As she turns to go see Mathilda, the ninja spots Harad return looking a bit displeased and head straight to his caravan.<br />Crossing through the people buying and looking at the goods the caravan is selling, The ninja arrives at Mathilda's tent, opening a flap to get inside, she walks into the lamplit, incensed space. two small chairs are empty near the table at the other side Mathilda sits, the glow of the lamps reflecting in her greyed hair.<br />"well, what do you want?" she asks.</div>
The Ninja explains how she was sent by the head of the city guard to acquire the blade so she would be let off for her crimes, but that she had gotten to like the caravan and wanted to stay with the caravan. Mathilda having an eyebrow raised much of this discussion, tells of the dark magics someone must be practicing to have want of the knife… she reaches behind her to a small box on a small bookcase and gives the ninja a red triangle badge, like the ones the other security had. "be with us awhile" she smiles. The ninja retires to a caravan she is told to go rest in and the caravan moves on.Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-76852608550686922192015-03-02T23:21:00.003-08:002015-03-02T23:21:48.713-08:00slowly getting players into my Sayari setting So I found a rules-lite dungeon crawl system with the rather 'classy' name of '<a href="http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=129865&it=1" target="_blank">MurderHobos</a>'<br />Its a tongue in cheek thing aimed predominantly at raiding dungeons, killing things and getting gold.<br />To get a general gist of the core system and what its about just read the description on <a href="http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=129865&it=1" target="_blank">DriveThruRPG it sort of says it all!</a><br /><br />My tale of joy was discovering this thanks to the madness of one Tim Harper on the youtube rpg brigade page on facebook. I took a bit of a glimpse at the 6 pages and realised I had found the perfect rules light system for my own setting of a predominantly fantasy nature, that I had been wanting to run games in, on days the planned games of my group, couldn't go ahead due to occasional inability to get everyone together to run the larger games (illness, work commitments, lack of travel funds etc)<br />so far have 3 player characters done, 3 more exist as concepts that players have but havent yet gotten down to writing down/playing and have only run two solo sessions.<br />
<br />
The World of Sayari is a gm directed/dictated (mwuh ha ha haa I have godlike powers!), co-operatively created setting, with the players asked what sort of thing they'd like to play, limited at moment to the 4 classes in the original rules set and the two I've so far added, and with a focus on the already existing races I've created, but with some leeway for new suggestions.<br />For example, I had no oriental alike cultures, it was predominantly celtic/aboriginal/medieval sort of thing, but as soon as I got players involved, the first two to create characters wanted oriental leanings in appearance, or to be a ninja... thus was born two new cultures... aside from these another player wanted a ninja/throwing stars, the latest player has throwing 'crosses', so pretty much throwing stars, and another has wanted to play a ninja, but to move a little away from the pure oriental theme, wants it to be a ninja-pirate... the despair/giggles this caused have been amusing.<br /><br />If you have an account on Obsidian Portal the wiki for the 'Tales of Sayari' can be found with this link - <a href="https://tales-of-sayari.obsidianportal.com/wikis/main-page">https://tales-of-sayari.obsidianportal.com/wikis/main-page</a>, It is very much a work in progress and due to slow going of getting games going, may be awhile before much is done to complete all the information pages on races/cultures etc. so far have had two games. <br />One in May 2014. The most recent yesterday, 2nd of March 2015... only 8 months apart =P<br /><br />I'll post the adventures so far as two seperate blog posts following this one so as not to fill screen with too much text in one go. And once I've finished meddling with rules, thanks to the original being a creative commons affair, I'll likely get it all typed up and put out there for download.<br />Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-26174385497276897522015-02-12T10:57:00.001-08:002015-02-12T10:57:21.109-08:00Aliens! Tyranids! Infestation and Invasion of an Outpost ColonySo, like many for years I have wanted to play a game or series of games based around the 'Aliens' movie.<br />Colonial Marines battling to survive against a tide of vicious nasties is awesome (as well as the cool idol of Ellen Ripley)<br />
With my trying to push my games group back to the sinful simplicities of 3rd edition 40k, I have been slowly acquiring the codices/codex's from the thrice cursed ebay... taunter of my small budget and greedy desires for more miniatures...<br />
going through my 3rd/4th edition Tyranids and random Guard collection I appear to have about 1,800 points of tyranids (with a few more points I could add on via biomorphs) and about 650 points of Imperial Guard... currently trying to acquire some more cheap as possible cadians and a few more tyranid warriors to control the swarm.<br />I have a basilisk for the guard... not quite fitting for the campaign I'm planning, but I am thinking of making some A.P.C. alike counts as chimera tanks<br />
<br />
For the scenario, I want to set it before the Macragge assault, before the tyranids were as well known as they now are.<br />On a distant outpost planet some scientists go to explore a crashed hulk, and get infected by genestealers. when they get back to the outpost they quarantine themselves, eventually quarantining the whole sci-block.<br />
After communications break down, and the response "we're still collating" starts to cause panic, rumours and suspicion. A team is sent to investigate, arriving to discover the whole sci-block dead and come under attack of the genestealers the scientist/hybrids had started to sneak into base on their missions to learn more about the infection.<br />(The genestealers having killed the hybrids/cult as they had come under the power of the hive mind of a small incoming splinter fleet)<br />As the guard report the incursion on the ground, the astropath detects disturbances in the warp and hopefully sends out an s.o.s. in time before the planet is entirely cut off.<br />
then a battle for survival will ensue, the guard discovering the outposts shuttles have been sabbotaged and hoping they can survive until reinforcements appear or until they can repair a shuttle and try to escape.<br />Am hoping this fuels me enough to try and get on with some more scifi scenery and perhaps once campaign is written up invite over some of my games group to play it out at mine with pizza, curries and alcohol interspersing the "game over man! GAME OVER!" and other such quotation. <br />
<br />
If it works out I'm going to use the Terminator future war (get on with painting necrons) and predator movies (probably homebrew some random gribbly or use 2nd ed rules + a lictor?) as further inspiration to get on with painting and making things.<br />Back to looking at maps of Hadley's Hope and pics of the Colonial marine props for colour scheme stealing =)Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-55208460254094163572015-01-11T08:53:00.001-08:002015-01-11T08:55:14.769-08:00slow progress on the Greater Daemon =)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It's a not great pic... (none of them are, but I felt a need to document it, will hope to get better pic taken soon.) but yay! (bad) tabletop standard painted Nurgle force!<br />
<br />
All year have been trying to get different projects complete but with shifting focus and bouts of complete motivational lack (health and stuff) have kinda struggled.<br />
<br />
I got the vast majority of my empire done (all but one unit of foot-troops and some warmachines in a 3000-ish point army) and got started on my eldar (finally) as well as a couple of warbands for a song of blades and heroes and a random necromunda gang, so not bad, I just could have done better.<br />
<br />
But yeah! I completed one thing over these past two days (admittedly to a shoddy tabletop standard) my Nurgle army! these miniatures are a combination of minis a friend (Jonah/Stygianheart @<a href="http://meanderingshade.blogspot.co.uk/">http://meanderingshade.blogspot.co.uk/</a> ) gave me, as he'd converted them up possibly five or more years ago and only dry brushed upto white on the ones he'd done, whilst 6 of the unconverted plague marines, the 2 characters, terminators and dreadnought, I added from random ebay lots this year and from my acquiring the marines from the last edition (or previous to last) of 40k (black reach?) about 3 years ago and had started converting them to chaos.<br />
If my games group end up picking up on 40k again I am likely to dig these out and finish up/neaten the paintjobs then. <br />
<br />
I still have a random bunch of conversions and bad paintjobs from previous chaos armies, still lurking in boxes and hope to get a khorne force put together at some point in time... much like a mirror to my warhammer fantasy really, as I have a half done nurgle army for that and miniatures laying about to put together a khorne force too. (all miniature hobbyists seems to end up with too many projects to finish, especially after over 15+ years hoarding...)<br />
<br />
anyway a few more not great pictures to close post with will follow, and if you read this in time, have a happy new years eve celebrating the incoming of 2015, and may your new year be excellent to you!<br />

As is the case I never finished painting/converting/scratchbuilding everything I was desiring to use.<br />In addition to that still unfinished number of models (though I keep getting through a few more every now and again) I also had the idea of attempting to sculpt/kitbash some creatures from a setting idea I was working on for roleplaying with the world of darkness chronicle I had been working on (which I also am finally running recently)<br />
<br />

<br />
They live in a realm outside of ours, but connected somehow? I'll type up the notes I have on them after random showy offy photos of start to now, though a couple of stages are missing due to the time they were started (I built the legs about 2 years ago, greenstuff molded around a paperclip skeleton)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the beginning of their being finished.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The black being the already undercoated legs, the fresh green stuff being the start of the mouth/head.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/dreameatersstep201_zpsa3f80802.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/dreameatersstep201_zpsa3f80802.jpg" height="272" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
From the images I knew it would be hard for me to try and sculpt the crazy thin long teeth of the creatures, so like with my nurgle greater daemon sculpt (I will finish painting it... hopefully get to it again soon) how I used the pin bit of push pins for its teeth, I was going to use sewing needles to make the teeth for these cuties =)... but although I easily owned enough needles it seemed a waste and would be a lot of hassle.<br />So having looked at molds and other things a good while ago, I had the idea to try out making a pressmold for the first time, then I could also re-use it on incase I need pointy teeth for any other future meddlings.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I grabbed a bunch of different needle sizes and rolled out some greenstuff, laying the sewing needles in slightly random lengths in relation to each other and rolling them flush to the surface of the mold to create the relief... also using a skeleton model I made an impression of the skull to possibly use for basing decoration in the future.<br />I left the items pressed into the greenstuff overnight as shown below.<br />

<br />
I appear to have skipped taking photos of the resultant 'casts' ? I made.<br />But basically after removing the originals, needles and skelly from the mold.<br />I did a light brushing of vaseline into the impression left by the items, and pressed a small amount of freshly mixed greenstuff into the different sides of the teeth (needle) imprints, left it a couple of minutes before peeling it off, flattening the cast a little as it curled when I peeled it out/off.<br />then leaving to oneside to cure whilst using up the greenstuff I'd mixed.<br />
(I ended up with 9 pairs of teeth and seven skulls)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
Once dry, I then cut the teeth to fit the jaw shapes of the creatures.<br />and glued them in place using superglue, filling in any gaps and adding in a gumline using some liquid greenstuff.<br /><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141021_223005_zps7e3459bf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141021_223005_zps7e3459bf.jpg" height="290" width="320" /></a></div>
... It is also after putting this one together I remembered an issue I had with my nurgle daemon and didnt want to have to deal with again... so allthough using several washes of watered down acrylic managed to undercoat the inside of this ones mouth, without me having to take the teeth off, I decided to undercoat the inside of the mouth of the other two, before attaching their teeth and sculpting gums. It was much easier.<br />
<br />
So, they then went from this,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141022_120248_zpsb9646a52.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141022_120248_zpsb9646a52.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(featuring my rather fetching, yellow flowery duvet cover)</div>
<br />
To this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141025_110550_zps8e79c5d5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Shadows%20Ghosts%20Nightmares%20Dreams/20141025_110550_zps8e79c5d5.jpg" height="480" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I am very happy to have them finished even if they are only simply painted a shiny black (used reeves artistic paint) with simply layered up white for the teeth with a smudgy vaugely checkerboard base.<br />
<br />
will post pics of the other creatures and cretins soon.<br />

<span class="caps">Dreameaters</span><span class="caps"></span>…<br />
Made of darkness given form, in appearance they are a huge maw filled
with needle thin teeth, suspended on four long spider-like, spindly
legs.<br />
They seem to favour twisting young innocents dreams into corrupt visions
and feeding off their fear, distress and confusion while they sleep. <br />

sooo, photos of how they've finished off (as saturday i was ill and nought got done)<br />

Well, feeling kind of smily now they're done (to this stage) but miffed that I've run out of the beastman horns I was using, so cannot finish up converting more warriors yet... (there is a seller of just those bits in america definitely, but for the sake of shiping costs think I'll have a look around british bits suppliers...)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
not sure when they'll see table as I'm focussing (ha!) more on my empire for fantasy stuff at moment. but have learnt that setting goals to a deadline may be the way to go get things done, plus give more reason to do blog posts documenting progress... </div>

again, really slow going for some reason... but hey its getting them done!<br />
So heres the two pics of what I've been up to these last two days =)<br />
<br />
Also discovered I've not currently got enough horns left over to convert more warriors to chaos, may have to try checking ebay and bits shops =( <br />

<br />
so lessons learnt from the first batch of blunderbus armed conversions... as said in last post, I shortened the barrel before adding the blunderbus barrel-end.<br />
<br />
yay for ranking up =)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

next up, horns...<br />
<br />
(stupid life stuff interupting... I was hoping to have more done by now)<br />
ah well, at least I'm getting things done =)Jessica Granthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03706151771432811692noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-868972281935639588.post-82472884170593368212014-04-08T21:14:00.003-07:002014-04-09T21:33:48.605-07:00Stuntie Week, part deux... actually doing something =PSo the converting begins!<br />
After my lesson learnt from my first skull pass dwarf conversions, that the blunderbus unit doesn't rank up too well. I am shortening the barrels of the rifles before adding the greenstuff to make the cone/fluted barrel end? (you may gather I lack some knowledge of firearms)<br />
A bit of a weak 2nd day too. but I managed to get the following cutting/before and afters done.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
before the de-horning.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Chaos%20Dwarves/b38dafe7-f103-4877-8eb7-7f71749e5e76_zpsf8d743bc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Chaos%20Dwarves/b38dafe7-f103-4877-8eb7-7f71749e5e76_zpsf8d743bc.jpg" height="210" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and then minus horns + shortened barrel</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

So, I am going to try and join in on Stuntie Week, a challenge for the week suggested by Chico on his blog (link to article <a href="http://oldhammeronabudget.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/challenge-stuntie-week-starts-today.html" target="_blank">http://oldhammeronabudget.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/challenge-stuntie-week-starts-today.html </a>)<br />
<br />
Was a bit ill this day and distracted by music meddlings and house cleaning.<br />
but atleast have pics of what I have so far (minus the hellcannon-like conversion, I'll photo that if I get the crew/wardens finished?) hoping by end of week to photo whats left of my classic big hat chaos dwarfs. I made them into a war band for a song of blades and heroes though that game has hardly been played round here, it was fun, and also aiming to convert at least 9-10 more blunderbusses, and if possible a few more warriors...<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
First up, this Todd McFarlane's Spawn inspired conversion.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(click on pics to enlargen)<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/c54ba831-9d0b-4a5e-bd95-2b458a8e729e_zpsbb4a505b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/c54ba831-9d0b-4a5e-bd95-2b458a8e729e_zpsbb4a505b.jpg" height="298" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was created I think, somewhere between 97 and 99 </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Back from my youthful days when I was still in school...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221709_zpsfaa21144.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221709_zpsfaa21144.jpg" height="341" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
..and has survived quite well all things considered.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221719_zpsa9b964a6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221719_zpsa9b964a6.jpg" height="308" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The cape is a very early attempt at using milliput</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
(oh look at those lovely fingerprints, though I can't say i've improved much...)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221732_zps672ffebb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221732_zps672ffebb.jpg" height="328" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I don't think I intended to use it in games, and it may be my first unintentional diorama</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
definitely a first scenic base. (featuring bits from the 90's plastic skeleton kit, one of the first plastic</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
chaos space marine legs and may have been on the cut off base from the warhammer quest</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
bats glued on top of the round base?...)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/41e3f192-c4f7-4df5-8fb9-41e619d79b0b_zpsf17db8b2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/41e3f192-c4f7-4df5-8fb9-41e619d79b0b_zpsf17db8b2.jpg" height="315" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One of the things I did after retrieving it from its tomb in a bits box, was to paint the base edge</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
black. I never liked the 'paint the edges a darker shade of/or same colour as the top' thing and after doing so on my first miniatures when I was taught how to paint, decided to stop when I started doing my own thing. I prefer a black edge, for some reason I feel it makes a miniature look more like a display piece than a game token.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221747_zpsa7b7b4d5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221747_zpsa7b7b4d5.jpg" height="341" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The other thing I did was to replace the missing left hand with a plastic catachan hand... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I need to redo the paint job to match though, the newer coats on the hand don't match the older paint at the minute... bit too much yellow in the mix?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221801_zps96584041.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/old%20school%20and%20random%20oddities/20140402_221801_zps96584041.jpg" height="295" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The head is one of the old plastic skeleton heads, the base figure is an Eversor assassin,</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
and the chains are from Kharn the Betrayer.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's been a fun discovery... I am looking forward to locating some of the other few creations that have survived the years (and maybe neatening them up a little before taking pics, or perhaps doing before and after shots?)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Until next time, peace and happy gaming =)</div>

I intended on posting the pics as I did the work, but as mentioned earlier, life stuff... so am now posting chronologically a set of pics of my first scratch built sculpt, I am starting to work on (continuing when more empire is done) my chaos warrior nurgle army, so with the intention of sculpting a few Daemon princes to stay within my poor budget I bought some milliput, found out the required base size and set to work. Initially using a couple of empty paint pots as filler for the great creatures... but as soon as I started, I realised it would end up in my opinion being too big... so I thought sod it, greater daemon time... and taking inspiration from my favourite classic greater daemons of nurgle as well as the current sculpts went with my imagination on the fly...<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I discovered when I started painting some washes that the vallejo foundation white, started to bubble</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
up and rub off a bit... I think for future sculpts I'll spray prime before using standard acrylics etc...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
so a 2nd thick coat of vallejo foundation white mixed with khaki grey and GWs bronzed flesh</div>

Finally got something done to post about.
My old board that I use to paint and construct my miniatures on started life as a sort of temporary coffee table/display stand that was made to sit on top of a keyboard (musical, computer) stand. (click on pics to enlarge)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1580_zps3303f2fb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1580_zps3303f2fb.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It gets a bit crowded and messy and I wanted something specifically for the task of making and painting things, with a neutral colouring as opposed to the bright pink and silver and black splodges that are on the board above.</div>
<br />
My friends Micki and Jonah (his blog over @ <a href="http://meanderingshade.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">meanderingshade</a>) have had the GW paintstations for a few years, I liked the idea of them but found them not wide enough for my liking and too deep (dimensionally, not philosophically) but I liked the idea of a shelf, perhaps higher off the base to have more room for things to go under, without the silly (in my opinion) brush stand and water pot holes.<br />
<br />
So a fair number of years the above board has suited me, but to get something more appropriate to the task and that would perhaps feel neater to work at, that I could still just put away on a shelf when finished with I set to making my own!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1574_zps57a0fbab.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1574_zps57a0fbab.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Supplies!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Main issue I've had in this project, is the inability to locate my tape measures... or my tape for measuring fabric... so (in truly oldschool fashion) I used a piece of string to measure the lengths of certain things, such as the base, which is pretty much the same dimension as my old one.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I did mess this up as I was going on with it, but have managed to bodge it together fairly well thankfully... such as evidenced below, marking out the frame for the board to be screwed and glued to.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1575_zpse5424ee0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1575_zpse5424ee0.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1581_zpse94680ef.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1581_zpse94680ef.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As you can see, I cut and glued the short length pieces first, when I should have done the longer width pieces, that were meant to be the main supports... oops...</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1588_zps9c5a3c0a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1588_zps9c5a3c0a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div>
Also... Due to the wood being these thin slats from an old bed I had to double them up as the screws were too long for a single piece. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1590_zpsb2a37aec.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1590_zpsb2a37aec.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: center;">
When I picked this up whilst drying, the board bent so much the middle sections popped off. </div>
<div class="p1" style="text-align: center;">
They should have run the full length of the base, but as I said, I got the order wrong, only realising at this point, which is why I added the feet to it later, to help give it back some structural strength and also give room for fingers to get under the board to aid in picking it up =)</div>
</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1595_zps72fbbfec.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1595_zps72fbbfec.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Marking out the feet.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1596_zpsd9dc2c33.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1596_zpsd9dc2c33.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The one at back came out a 'little' rough... but it does the job!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Again I glued then screwed these in place, positioning them so they joined the gap and secured the structure of the board better, joining the side lengths of the frame to the width pieces.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1597_zpsed165e1a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_1597_zpsed165e1a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can just see the feet here... unfortunately the shot that showed the feet better and didn't have the clutter on top was corrupted somehow, so I have to post this one. =(</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Onto the shelf! It took me a week to remember to buy the brackets and some shorter screws, but finally I could complete the project. first getting the sides to the shelf positioned and screw holes marked out, then screwing bracket to each of the side pieces, before screwing them in position on the base board.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2820_zps8da20ec6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2820_zps8da20ec6.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Side pieces + brackets</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2826_zps56d0db5a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2826_zps56d0db5a.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Screwed into position</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
I forgot to take pics of gluing and screwing on the shelf and the back, but I screwed the first (one nearest base/at the bottom) back piece on, then the shelf itself followed by the rest of the back pieces. I screwed the top back piece into the middle of the shelf too for added support.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2827_zpsca9b7db7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://i1356.photobucket.com/albums/q723/alien_animal/Miniatures%20etc/Paint%20station%20Hobby%20board/IMG_2827_zpsca9b7db7.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I did say it looked rough... but it'll hopefully serve me well =)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
And heres how the funky mess looks populated with my soon to be better organised clutter. For a start I'm going to be putting the paints I don't need out back into their tub.</div>
<div>

<div>
<br /></div>

Hopefully be getting back on with things miniatures wise in the coming days, and this weekend if I get over to Micki and Jonah's early enough, be having some pre-roleplaying session warhammer, as we (us and our group) are meant to be starting up our escalation league again... Now to decide... chaos, chaos dwarves or empire?</div>

<br />
<div class="p1">
Theater of the Mind magazine! (currently two issues available) is a recently started bi-monthly venture initiated by one Alex Guillotte (critical hit publishing on rpgdrivethru <a href="http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=4531">http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=4531</a> and youtube channel - Captain Gothnog <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/CaptainGothnog">http://www.youtube.com/user/CaptainGothnog</a>)</div>
<div class="p1">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
The magazines goal or prime directive is to get more people into immersive roleplaying and have articles about setting the mood and atmosphere, a few short stories, setting nonspecific campaign/scenario ideas and interviews with people from the youtube and gaming community at large.</div>
<div class="p1">
The first issue starts with something of a respectful remembrance of a gaming friend of the editor who passed on this year.</div>
<div class="p1">
Following this is an introduction to the magazines manifesto as mentioned previously, it aims to inspire and inform people about immersive role-play predominantly, as well as have interviews, reviews, a few short stories and adventure/encounter ideas.</div>
<div class="p1">
It is very well laid out and in full colour with some excellent graphics. This first issue kicks off with a couple of articles on immersion and what it is, to get the point driven home to readers who may be unfamiliar to the idea of this particular style of play. </div>
<div class="p1">
An excellent article about creating memorable locations, giving them atmosphere and history that you as a gm can utilise to get your players to better see and feel with their minds eye, where they (as their character) are.</div>
<div class="p1">
A few features of inspiration for creatures and employing secret symbols and gestures. A couple of amusing comic strips and an in depth chat with several key members of the vtmyte vampire the masquerade experiment game.</div>
<div class="p1">
One of the hopefully regular features that interests me as I have friends with kids, is the feature called 'Small Beginnings' with an adventure written for 1-4 players using the hero kids system, though it would be easy to adapt to any other system.</div>
<div class="p1">
Again, it is nicely laid out and has some excellent little maps supplied, as well as some pre-generated characters.</div>
<div class="p1">
Alex Guillotte (the editor) ends the issue with two quick articles, one a quick intro to himself and his partner/co-editor (ending with thanks to the various article contributors), the other, is a cantrip he has created called preserve (he has published several volumes of cantrips for D&D/pathfinder).</div>
<div class="p2">
<br /></div>
<div class="p1">
The second issue, continues with the quality and format of the first. but adds a theme to the issue (from this point on, each issue is going to have a theme or specific mood it will focus on) this issues theme being, becoming lost. </div>
<div class="p1">
relating to the theme are a few articles, Limbo, under the bed, getting lost in a dungeon, taking the rules literally - travel and getting lost, and, lost and loving it. </div>
<div class="p1">
The feature for Small beginnings this issue is about violence in childrens games and is a very good read.</div>
<div class="p2">

Nothing amasing to report.<b>Hello!</b> have been a bit busy on the jobhunt/trying to get voluntary work front and getting back into music production again recently.<br />
<br />
Over the past few weeks I have managed to procure the Empire army book finally, so I can start to sort out the various bits I have been on and off collecting for the past few years. I worked out so far just over 3000 points of troops! (I really didn't know how much I had... and this is with only using characters at hero level, not lord level, and without magic items)<br />
<br />
Started painting base colours on more goblins and the pikachu grots. On the note of painting... digging out the empire troops I had forgotten one of my biggest mistakes... <b>Lesson of the day</b>... using plastikote glossy black spray paint is not a good substitute for gw or army painter spraypaint... It worked out for my 4th ed tyranids and some dark eldar that I wanted glossy... but when sprayed too closely in a rush on empire troops, it looks a bit odd and means that most of my empire hand gunners and spearmen are going to be a wee bit devoid of some details... thankfully none of my characters were sprayed back then (this was 3-4 years ago that they were sprayed...)<br />
<br />
Hopefully I'll have something interesting to post soon?<br />
<br />
all the best to any readers with their own hobby stuff. Yours, Jess. <br />
